A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the messages sent to inactive email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss messages because the other side has an out-of-date email address or has made a typographical error. The downside of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited email messages, but this problem can be fixed using anti-spam filtering software. It’s also essential to remember that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound emails to a third-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
Setting up a catch-all e-mailbox will be incredibly easy in case you have a shared plan with us. You can activate this feature through our powerful, yet user-friendly Email Manager, which is included in the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you’ll manage your shared web hosting account. You’ll see all the mailboxes that you have set up enumerated in alphabetical order and to the right of each of them there will be a small-size "Catch-all" icon, which will quickly notify you if a certain mailbox gets all the emails associated with a certain domain name or not. With one single mouse click on the icon you can enable or disable this option whenever you like. If there’s active email forwarding or in case a different mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a given domain, you will get an alert from our system. The latter won’t disable/replace anything automatically or without your approval.
